Keeva’s Select Wines

Keeva’s Select Wines is a collaboration between a third-generation family of master winemakers and some modern approaches to wine crafting that reflect the evolving needs of wine consumers.

Quality

First and foremost it really is a vision where quality comes first.  An often overused claim from producers but for our team, it really is the foundation to everything we do.

With some common-sense approaches such as handpicking grapes to minimise damage to the bunches, hand sorting bunches based on quality and then only using the very best grapes for pressing and fermenting.  Add to that a cost-effective approach to oak cask maturation that includes 3 different ageing periods across 3 different oak cask types.

These are principles that add very small amounts to production costs but create a vastly superior quality wine with depth and complexity that can rival the very finest of wines.

Value

Instead of using quality as a justification for massively inflated prices, we still deliver on our commitment to good value for the consumer.  We achieve this simply by removing some of the layers that profit from importing, distributing, wholesaling and retailing wines.

In some markets, a bottle of wine can pass through 4 or 5 different companies before it reaches the consumer, with each level adding their own profits as the bottle travels from vineyard to wine lover.

It’s not unusual for a wine to leave a vineyard for between US$1.5 and US$2 a bottle – but end up costing the consumer US$10 to US$20 for the same bottle.

Our wines go direct to retailers – so the retail cost is simply production cost + shipping + import duties and taxes + delivery to the consumer, with a respectable and fair margin for the retailer.

It means that wine lovers can have a vastly superior wine for the same price as they would normally pay for below average (but overpriced) wines.
